Nintendo: Great Family Entertainment Systems
From the Colour TV Game series to the Wii and Game & Watch to the DSi no matter what form of Nintendo system you have it’ll keep you and your family entertained for hours.
While the most current console is the Nintendo Wii which uses motion sensing controllers and gives the ability to go online, Nintendos in all forms are still incredibly popular. As of 2009 Super Mario Brothers was the best selling game of all time.
From Wikipedia:
Nintendo has produced several home and portable video game consoles since 1977. Home consoles include the Color TV Game (1977), Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom (NES, 1983), Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom (SNES, 1990), Nintendo 64 (N64, 1996), Nintendo GameCube (GCN, 2001) and Wii (2006). Portable consoles include the Game & Watch line (1980), Game Boy line (1989), Virtual Boy (1995), Nintendo DS (2004) and Nintendo DSi (2009).
With the popularity of Nintendo and the wide range of accessories and games sometimes it’s hard to find just what you want. I know when we first got out Wii he had a hard time finding an extra remote control. In fact the Wii remote controllers were unavailable here for several months (as was the Wii fit) any many had to pre-order to get them when the new stocks finally arrived.
My family and I love our Wii (over the years we have also had the NES, and the N64 before purchasing a Wii and considering what they had to put up with Nintendo has grown along with my kids and in the early years (particularly for the N64) they had a hard life, with controllers being dropped and thrown, games being shoved into and ripped out of the console(s) having things spilt on them etc but they just kept on going.
Of course as people grow and evolve so do the consoles, handhelds and games that go with them. Games are more than just racing cars around a track nowadays, there’s educational games for young and old (though the brain training gets me stumped sometimes) and adventure games that can have you travelling through new worlds. Of course there is still the racing games, though now the cars go a lot quicker and have a habit of running into walls (at least when I’m steering) no matter what you use your Nintendo for though you’re bound to have fun with it.
Take a look through the pages of this site; you’ll find all you could possibly need for your Nintendo no matter what version you have or what game or accessory you may be after; including articles, cheats and the odd repair tip.
