How To Modify Your Nintendo DS

February 18th, 2012

The Nintendo DS is considered to be the best-selling game console of all time. When I say game consoles that includes portable and those that are not portable. It outsold such hot devices as the PSP, Xbox or the Gameboy, which is quite an achievement. Several years after its release the device is still going strong. When you use an r4 card on this console you can increase its capabilities and upgrade its capacity to make it even better. You can play even more games in it and use it as a media playing device. This means you can add a whole new dimension to it just by inserting a small card into the device and here is how to do that:

1. The first thing that you have got to do is to purchase a good r4 card. You have to do that over the Internet and there are websites that are offering this card for sale. Be careful in picking the site from where you will be buying because there are those that offer fake cards and you might just end up wasting your money with them.

2. There is a good chance that the card that you have bought might not have the latest firmware installed in it, so it would be better if you download that on to your computer first. Do some research to make sure that you are able to get the latest release of the firmware that’s available.

3. Your next step is to connect the card to your computer. What you have to do here is to transfer the firmware that you have downloaded to the card to make sure that it becomes updated. You have got to make sure that the transfer has been finished for it to work.

4. Afterwards you can hook up the card to your Nintendo DS. If you have performed correctly when you turn your console on you should get the message confirming if you would like the card to takeover basically bypassing the regular menu of the DS. All you have to do is to confirm that and you’ll be good to go.

R4 Cards,The 3DS And The Future Of Nintendo

February 7th, 2012

With the relative failure of the latest portable device from Nintendo the 3DS there are those who are saying that it is the sign that the company is facing its decline. It is very easy to feel nostalgic about Nintendo, to many who grew up in the 80s and the early 90s, Nintendo provided the best video gaming experience that was available. They revolutionized the industry with the fantastic games and their amazing hardware. In fact they dominated the market for so long that others say that the company leaders have lost the proper perspective.

Though the 3DS which is the latest portable gaming console offered by the company did sell units numbering in the millions, it was still way below the numbers expected by Nintendo originally. That is why many analysts see it as just the first stress signs in the confidence of the company.

When you think about it, the DS especially after the r4 cards came out and the Wii didn’t fare too badly but still Nintendo is at a at a critical point right now. They must decide whether they would continue with creating hardware for which their games are to be exclusive or take the path of licensing its titles to other companies.

They have to think about the trend in the industry right now. They have to change and when they do they can derive a tremendous amount of profit from licensing the iconic titles that they own. The mobile phone devices are taking a huge chunk of the portable gaming market. Nintendo’s argument is that mobile phones provide a poor platform for gaming, though they might be right, they tend to forget that for a smart phone gaming is just one of the features that mobile phones have to offer now.

Change is something that Nintendo has to do right away. The market for mobile gaming is really a huge one but the standards are starting to get higher so that means that it would be a lot more difficult now for a company to dominate it completely again as Nintendo once did

The R4 Card For Your DS

January 27th, 2012

Have you heard about the r4 cards and how they are making a lot of changes these days when it comes to gaming. While the Nintendo DS is considered to be an advanced portable gaming console when it was released, it is still limited when it comes to the features that it has. That is why they came out with the R4 card. This card allows the console to do a lot more things than what it was designed for. Here are some tips on how you can use the card to enhance the capabilities of your device:

1. The primary step in using the card is of course to make sure that you have got everything that you are going to need to get your console setup. Now if your computer does not come ready with a slot for the DS card then you can utilize the USB adapter that comes with the card.

2. Place the card into the USB adapter and then plug it into the USB slot of your computer. You can then access the drives on your computer and access the one that corresponds to the removable drive. You should have to be aware about this because this is going to be different with each computer or device.

3. Place the disc that comes with card into the computer and then copy the files from the disc into the drive. Once the transfer of files is done then take it out from the computer and then insert it into the r4 card.

4. You can then insert the card into the console. Once the device is on you should be able to see the menu of the card right away popping up on the screen of the device. You should be able to use it then to download more games than what was allowed before. Also the capability of the device is going to be increased greatly. You should be able to use it as an excellent media playing platform. This is what this card can do for you.

The Fall Of Nintendo

January 22nd, 2012

Nintendo first became a huge hit way back in the1980s. That time was crucial for the whole gaming industry. Atari has released some gaming consoles that did not do well in the market and causing a lot of mistrust from consumers. The situation was so bad in fact that there were those who were predicting the end of gaming consoles which was just in its infancy back then and all signs seems to be pointing out that way.

That was when Nintendo came along and gave the NES or the Nintendo Entertainment System to the world. It was like the video gaming industry got a new lease of life because of that. Nintendo became the industry leader right away after that. They solidified their leadership by releasing other excellent products such as the Super NES and the N64. They also came out with several titles that has become iconic in gaming.

Years would pass before the leadership of Nintendo was even challenged. That happened only when PlayStation and Microsoft released their own video gaming consoles that used CDs instead of cartridges. That development was not much in the eyes of consumers at first, in fact it might have been seen as a drawback since discs were more liable to be damaged, but the developers felt the advantages of it right away and they started using it.

The problem was that Nintendo did not respond to the challenged posed by these devices. When they finally decided to react it was a halfhearted effort at best. That’s why the Game Cube was such a weak offering. That was the start of the decline for Nintendo and they are still failing to make necessary changes together with all the developments that are happening in the world today.

The biggest evidence of this refusal to use these changes to their advantage are their efforts to block the use and sale of the r4 cards for their devices. They are still refusing to make any adaptations that will allow them to use different business models.

The R4 Card Development

January 20th, 2012

The Nintendo DS was purely meant to be a gaming device and it was never really seen by the manufacturers as a media player that could playback music and videos. That is why they limited the memory of the device to what was needed in order to play games on it. Things have changed a lot when the r4 cards were introduced into the market.

This small card which at first glance looks just like the game cartridge used for the DS has altered the way that the console is used all over the world. Though the DS will always be perceived as a gaming platform first before anything else, because it follows in the tradition of other portable gaming consoles from Nintendo, it is now seen as something else.

Then came the r4 Card and that changed the way that the Nintendo DS is seen. It added capabilities to the device that were not originally intended for it by the manufacturer. For gamers one of the biggest change that it brought was the fact that it allowed home brew games to be played on the device. That means it has expanded the possible number of games for the DS vastly.

One other huge change that the r4 card has brought about is the way that the DS was reoriented. While still primarily a gaming device, more and more people came to rely on it for other purposes as well, like the playback of movies and music.

You can start enjoying movies and music on it as well. You can even read some digital files and store all kinds of files and data on it. It has also changed the memory capability of the device and has allowed you to store a vast amount of data on it so it can be used as a backup device.

But it has not gone down without some form of controversy. Nintendo has in fact tried to block its acceptance and its used in some countries and has succeeded in some countries. This is highly unfortunate since it limits the use of their device.

How To Use the R4 Card

January 15th, 2012

When the Nintendo DS was released it was hailed as one of the best portable gaming consoles to have ever been made and that really stuck. There is really no wonder how it was able to get that reputation with the great amount of games that you can play on it. You can even use it for chatting with your friends when they are near enough. These features really help to make the DS an extraordinary piece of gaming equipment. However if you want it to do a lot more then that is really possible with the r4 cards that are available today.

Now, how can you use the card to change the amazing console from Nintendo and enhance its capabilities even further? The card can enhance the media playing capabilities of the device greatly. You can then use it to playback movies, music and even use it for displaying text files.

1. First of all you are not going to find these cards at stores since they are not sold there. You have to rely on the Internet for buying a card. There are many online retailers dealing with this product.

2. In case your card which you have just bought was not shipped with the latest firmware in it you can download it.

3. Connect the card to your computer using an adapter. Open the file of the firmware and then transfer its contents to the card. Your card should be ready to go after that. You just have to make sure that you did everything right.

4. Once you are done with all of that and you have verified that you have done everything correctly you can then use the gaming console with its new card already. You can feel and see the changes made by the card even as it is just booting up. Although it looks like the same device that you have before it has now completely changed to something else.

The Final Days Of Portable Gaming Consoles

January 13th, 2012

The Sony Vita was made with so much hype and fanfare. It was hailed as the best portable gaming console to have ever been made. But after it was released and the initial sales results were tabulated it appeared that the latest from Sony when it comes to gaming was not much of a hit after all. Most market experts were surprised at the lacklustre performance of the Sony Vita and they are hoping that it is going to be able to recover soon enough.

There are those however who were not surprised with how things turned out. These people are the ones proclaiming the demise of the portable gaming consoles. They are citing the fact that these devices are obsolete and that they no longer have a place in a world dominated by the smart phones.

As the development of the smart phone is getting under way and they become cheaper and more advanced gaming devices will have a hard time keeping up. This is also the case with the apps market for the phones which is expanding at such a rapid rate. Compared to which the number of games for consoles seem laughably few.

Upgrades and updates such as the r4 card for the Nintendo DS which improves the media playing capability of the device is not going to change things. They still can not compete with capabilities of the smart phones that are being released today. This trend is not going to change even if they come up with some new designs for consoles.

Still there are those who are confident that portable gaming devices will never be phased out. They are confident that these devices will be just like desktop computers which were said to be phased with the development of laptops and tablets but are still going strong today because people still find them useful.

Having The Right R4 Card

January 6th, 2012

If you think that the Nintendo DS was such a hot console wait until you use the latest development for it. I’m talking about the r4 cards that are now available for the device. This is the series of advanced flash cards that will totally unlock your portable gaming console from Nintendo.

Just by inserting this small card which looks just like the original card for the device you can make it do a lot more cool stuff. You can start storing and watch movies, and play hundreds of additional games that were not originally available on the device. That small card is the most complete media enhancer that has ever been made for any portable gaming console, before or since.

If you are out to shop for an R4 card that you can use then here are some tips that you can rely on to enhance your console:

1. Do some research first before you buy from any supplier especially if you will be making the purchase online. Try to visit some relevant forums and ask some people there if anyone has actually bought from the supplier that you are interested in and how was the experience.

2. One other thing that you need to check about a supplier is whether they have a good support team which can help you out once you buy their product. There is always the possibility that something might go wrong and then you will need their help to sort things out.

3. Try to find a supplier that is really locally based. There are many companies that are trying to appear as if they have warehouses but in reality they are located overseas and so you might have to wait for your card for some time before you get it.

4. The moment that you have proven that a supplier is someone that you can rely then use them for any similar purchaser that you might have in the future.

Stepping Ahead With The 3DS

January 3rd, 2012

When you are after the best in portable gaming consoles then you should be getting the Nintendo 3DS which is considered by many to be the best portable consoles to have ever been made. The biggest innovation that this device offers is its ability to display 3D images which is a very neat feature. The 3DS advantage does not end there however and there are several other stuff that you can get with it. Here are some of those stuff:

Large Game Library- One of the reasons why the gaming consoles from Nintendo are so successful is because of the large number of games that can be played with them. The Nintendo 3DS is no different with its vast library offering a lot games to veteran players.

Upgrading- The device is kind of new but the possibility of upgrades are already there. You can get an r4 card for it that will enhance the capability of your console by a couple of times.

Multimedia- One of the biggest advantage of the 3DS over other devices is that its features make it particularly well suited for use as a multimedia player. This is especially true when it comes to playing 3d movies. With this device there is no longer any need to get an expensive display so you can watch in 3D, all that you need is this small console.

Connectivity- This device is also equipped with great features that allows connectivity with other players. You can play against other devices near you or you can go online and connect with other players located in different parts of the world.

These are just some of the things that can differentiate the new portable gaming device from Nintendo. Like what I have said, this device goes beyond the mere ability to display 3 dimensional images. It can do a lot more than that when there is a need for it.
