Looking at the Nintendo 3DS

January 6th, 2012

After buying my son a Nintendo 3DS Black console for his 12th birthday I was surprised to see how great the games were as my son started playing them Testing your brain was all you could do with the Nintendo when it first hit the shops or so I thought.

What a shock I got when I saw Lucas playing something called Resident Evil: The Mercenaries which was different to the one I had purchased with the Nintendo a few days earlier. This was a much better game than the one you bought with the console and I can swap them for more at school.

As my wife put her foot down and stopped the boy taking the console to school I get to play with it during the day when I’m home. The graphics are amazing and the sound is too but the control of The game and the characters has change into the shape of a Circular disc called a Circle Pad which is much easier to work than the standard control (+) button which is still there.

With the invention of 3D view and the brilliant graphics and sound this is one console that I don’t want to put down and walk away. To enhance the 3D view or to reduce the viewing capacity on the screen Nintendo have given you a slider button at the right of the top screen so you can adjust it to suit your eye’s and not get them strained.

Time and time again I get shot only to start back at the beginning of a level ready to be shot again. I guess my son wasn’t that impressed at the way I played It was mind boggling to be in so many different locations within the game but my son tells me that many games are more complex and harder to play and win as time goes by.

With the 2 camera’s mounted on the lid of the Nintendo 3DS you can take 3D pictures in real time. There’s an 2 GB SD Card stored in the base of your console where you can store your picture’s after you’ve taken them. I’ve had the 2 GB SD card in the console and never filled it up completely.

Storing both photo’s and sound on an SD card would be a great idea for someone to come up with an gallery app allowing you to show the combined media on the screen. Now you can actually connect with other Nintendo owner’s with the built-in Wi-Fi that lets you use those Hot Spot’s you find in airport’s and coffee bar’s around the city.

The Wi-Fi also lets you connect with other Nintendo console owners to exchange data from one machine to another via something called SpotPass which works even if your machine is in sleep mode.

Because the Nintendo is a fantastic gaming console I’ve bought my own and now sit at home playing Resident Evil to my hart’s content. You’d think that getting out my Nintendo console on the train would be a bit childish, but it just started a new craze as everybody ask’s me about different games and how to play them, its great.

Another Great Nintendo 3DS Black Review

December 26th, 2011

My son has all the latest gaming machines so I got him a Nintendo 3DS Black console for his 12th birthday so he could play games anywhere he wanted. Testing your brain was all you could do with the Nintendo when it first hit the shops or so I thought.

So I was surprised to come home the following day and find my son, Lucas playing something called Resident Evil: The Mercenaries Which wasn’t the game I bought with the console the day before. I had to get rid of the first game as it was naff (useless) he said, but the school is full of cool games and I can swop them as much as I like.

As my wife put her foot down and stopped the boy taking the console to school I get to play with it during the day when I’m home. Playing the games is such a breeze now that Nintendo have introduced the new Circle Pad which makes the game play much more easy to manipulate.

The graphics and sound really give the feel of real computer game play in your hands and the new 3D effect is just fantastic to look at as it gives that feel of depth to the screen that these types of hand held console gamers never had before. The 3D effect can hurt some peoples eyes so that’s why Nintendo incorporated a 3D adjuster at the side of the screen so people could make the screen more or less 3D.

As I played the Resident Evil game I didn’t know you could be shot that many times in a game and still get up and go again. I guess my son wasn’t that impressed at the way I played There’s so many locations in Resident Evil that I find it hard to negotiate them all, but they will get harder still in the future so my son says.

With the 2 camera’s mounted on the lid of the Nintendo 3DS you can take 3D pictures in real time. When you have your picture’s you can store them on the 2 GB SD card which is inserted in the base of the console. A 2 GB card comes with the console but you can upgrade to more if you want.

Combining your photo’s with sound on the SD card is a great way to present the media through the Nintendo via a gallery. You can also update your Nintendo while your on the move via the built in Wi-Fi which will let’s you connect to those Hot Spot’s you get at coffee bars or hotels around town.

With the introduction of Wi-Fi and an app called Spot Pass you can now connect two machines anywhere there is a Hot Spot and share data with each other.

To stop all the argument’s in our house I’ve bought my own Nintendo and a copy of Resident Evil so I can play with this fantastic little machine when ever I want. You’d think that getting out my Nintendo console on the train would be a bit childish, but it just started a new craze as everybody ask’s me about different games and how to play them, its great.

Inside the Nintendo 3DS Black

December 22nd, 2011

After buying my son a Nintendo 3DS Black console for his 12th birthday I was surprised to see how great the games were as my son started playing them I always thought the Nintendo only ran those IQ brain questions to show how good you were.

My son was playing a different game to the one I purchased with the console on his birthday, but this one was so brilliant I just stood there mesmerized. With an unofficial games library at school I can swap the games I’ve played with one of my mates who has one I haven’t.

Sooner or later that boy will lose that console because either a bully or a teacher will have it off him so my wife forbade Lucas from taking it to school which gave me more time to play with it. The console is just amazing to use and so easy to operate with the new Circle Pad which is over the normal (+) control pad which makes moving the characters around the screen so much easier.

I’m not getting through the levels as fast as my son but at least you can get up after getting shot and start again. Lucas wouldn’t be impressed I’m sure. It was mind boggling to be in so many different locations within the game but my son tells me that many games are more complex and harder to play and win as time goes by.

If that wasn’t complex enough now you can take photo’s with this machine as well via the 2 camera’s located on the lid about 4 ins apart. The pics can be stored on the SD card which is inserted into the side of the console base. A 2 GB card comes with the console but you can upgrade to more if you want.

With the ability to store graphics and sound on your Nintendo it wont be long before someone comes out with a photo gallery so you can combine both of these on the screen. Updating your console is now possible because Nintendo have introduced Wi-Fi to your hand held giving you the ability to connect through those Hot Spot’s you find around town’s and city’s.

With the introduction of Wi-Fi and an app called Spot Pass you can now connect two machines anywhere there is a Hot Spot and share data with each other.

Because the Nintendo is a fantastic gaming console I’ve bought my own and now sit at home playing Resident Evil to my hart’s content. Since I bought the Nintendo and use it while travelling to and fro to work other passenger’s are enquiring about the games and how to play them.
