February 3rd, 2010

Sony officially unveiled the PlayStation 3 last May 16, 2005 and since then, diverse games were also created. New games garnered favorable reviews from critics and fanatics. To name a few, we have Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots, Final Fantasy XIII, and Resident Evil IV. Due to its popularity, most gamers focus on these four and keep supporting the game series.

Devil May Cry 4 is the most recent edition of Devil May Cry (DMC) series available for XBOX 360 and PS3. The player takes the role of Nero, who’s armed with his sword named Red Queen and his Blue Rose Revolver and his Devil Bringer, his demonic right arm and Dante. In the entire course of the missions, player can switch back from Nero to Dante. The gameplay is the same as before focusing on the stylistic combat encounter giving you more combos and minimizing damage, that way, more unique attacks gains higher points as well. A new feature is added called “Proud Souls” which can be attained after every mission and can be exchanged to purchase skills that can be sold back for the same price.

The game received lots of favorable reviews, where it was commended for being entertainingly stylish just the same as MGS4. Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots also called MGS4 is a tactical, stealth, espionage action game developed by Hideo Kojima for the PS3 console which is the latest sequel to the MGS series. MGS4 is one of the best selling games offered by PS3 that has already received numerous credits and awards from different gaming publications making it the greatest game of the current generation.

The game has a number of new features that’s sure to interest any gamer such as the Solid Eye which highlights items and enemies. It has also threat ring functionality that allows the player to measure the distance of an enemy away from him. Here, you may use stealth, normal combat features and CQC. Hideo Kojima has introduced another masterwork and MGS4 will remain to be one of the major reasons for gamers to avail the PS3 console.

With regard to Final Fantasy XIII. The reviews show that developers keep the same gaming platform just the same as old Final Fantasy XII but this time, more twists has been added to make the tactical commanding base battle entertaining at the same time. The objective is to make the game appear the same as the fights scenes in Final Fantasy Advent Children. Final Fantasy XIII offers unique fighting system which is apart from the world map. There are a number of changes that has been done to improve the gameplay and this includes the ability of characters to chain combos and cause an enemy to be on an “exhausted” state wherein the enemy stands helpless and takes damage twice the normal amount. Overall, the game has a lot of new things to offer including a deep-storyline which is surely to pique’s any final fantasy fan’s interest.

The latest installment to the Resident Evil series is similar to Resident Evil IV with numerous, impressively made cut-scenes and sensitive controls. This time, the player controls Chris Redfield, a recurring protagonist of the series along with a new Sheva Alomar, with the same over-the-shoulder point of view. Aside from the multiplayer format, there are more weapons included but unlike before, the weapons can be equipped while on the field instead of pausing the game and gaining access from the inventory.

This game allows online accessibility; it can be played by two players at the same time through online mode but there will be times that players need to separate during the game to accomplish own missions. There are also recurring adversaries that will surprise fans of the title.

Generally, the game still posses the same gaming atmosphere found on previous version. This is highly suggested game for all the PS3 gamers.
