10 Of The Greatest Nintendo Co. Titles You Probably Have Never Played Already
Nintendo have produced some awesome games over the years on both home console and handheld video game systems.
There are obvious franchises and characters such as Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong that most people have played at some point in their lives however there are also a massive number of great games that were largely ignored by the masses.
Here we take a look at ten of those games which were widely loved by those that played them but didn’t sell as much as they should. They are definitely worth a look in your local games shop bargain bin for!
1. GTA: Chinatown Wars (DS) – This series has seen each game succeeded in quality from the last and GTA Chinatown wars is no different. Just as good as it’s home console cousins, but sold only a fraction they did.
2. Beyond Good & Evil (Gamecube) – This game had high production values, a great story and characters, was set in a fantastic world and looked great. If you missed it, it’s well worth a shot.
3. Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat (Gamecube) – Nintendo proving once again that they are masters of platform games and the bongo controls worked brilliantly here giving the genre a fresh twist.
4. Zack & Wiki: Quest For Barbaros Treasure (Wii) – One Capcom’s early efforts on the Wii and one of the third party efforts that was criminally ignored overall. Excellent puzzle game.
5. Blast Corps (N64) – A great game from a great developer. This shows why Rare had the N64 sewn up in the mid 1990′s.
6. Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem (Gamecube) – A fantastic psychological thriller with great graphics, controls and and awesome sanity feature made you really wonder if you were going mad!
7. Chrono Trigger (SNES/DS) – Many young gamers would probably have not played this so now is your chance with the DS remake. This is Japanese role playing at it’s finest.
8. Sin & Punishment (N64/Wii) – A Treasure developed title with typically great game-play and visuals. Now available on VC on Wii.
9. Okami (Wii/PS2) – A totally brilliant adventure that ranks up there with Zelda. Everyone should play this game – you owe it to Capcom!
10. Chibi-Robo! (Gamecube/Wii) – Released late in the Gamecube’s life mean’t not many people gave this quirky title a chance. The fact you can play it on your Wii gives little excuse not to go and track this down.
That concludes our missed Nintendo gaming gems list.
