Review: The Nintendo Wii Console

September 19th, 2010

Unlike Xbox and PlayStation, with Nintendo Wii, simple is good. Where Xbox and PlayStation have gone overboard with more graphical capabilities in the consoles, Nintendo Wii provides a system that is easier to handle. Wii also uses a device which resembles a normal TV remote rather than a gamepad, which is very different from Xbox and PlayStation that use conventional controls such as directional pads and controls sticks.

The console can be easily set up with an HDTV and comes with a cradle to mount it vertically. It consists of a sensor bar along with composite AV cables. However, if you want to take full advantage of the high-definition you will have to buy a set of component cables which support higher resolution.

With dimensions of 1.75×6.25×8.5, when placed horizontally, the console is smaller than expected and does not occupy much space. This enables you to move it around the house as desired. Place it next to your desktop or simply carry it next to the television. White is the only color that is available in the market. However, looking at the current trends, more colors are likely to hit the market in future.

The console comes with an internal memory of 512 MB along with Virtual Console titles. Well, that memory will obviously not last forever, and you can increase it through the Secure Digital card slot provided in the console. SD cards being cheap it’s a great feature incorporated by Wii compared to the proprietary cards used by older systems.

Navigation through Wii can be done through the Wii Channels. The default channels include news, weather forecast, message and photo channel. The Home page is the default gateway and allows you to access disc-based GameCube and Wii games as well as Virtual Console Titles. The best part of the system however is the motion sensing capability allowing you to play Wii-games. Considering all these features, Wii is worth a buy if you are looking for a cool multimedia system which can do just about anything!

Nintendo Family Computer Started Gambling At Home

April 17th, 2010

Present day ways of gambling has totally evolved jointly with the modernization of times. You may realistically gamble and win true funds while you are in the comfort of your own home. You will not even have to depart from your house to win. All you must do is to have a very good internet connection, numerous luck and wits to go along with it and you are all set to set up Las Vegas in your bedroom.

I am really not wondering how people have come up with such a brilliant idea because believe it or not, electronic gambling started as early as the Nintendo Family Computer was invented. With all the games springing out of the market, a lot of people grew even more fascinated with the booming gaming console that did not only entertain kids but their folks as well. There were even casino-themed games that you could play over the Nintendo Family Computer and this is exactly what happened to ours when I was a kid.

My daddy will invite numerous his friends over and borrow my Nintendo Family Computer so that he and his friends could realistically set it up in the living room to play Casino, a game that works similar to how slot machines and poker games would be portrayed inside a real casino. Well, our whole house turns into a casino each time his friends come over. It was a cute idea though. Everybody was having a great time and the most beneficial part is my dad and mom didn’t have to depart home simply to play several casino games.

At first, I truly hated the truth that whenever their particular friends come over, they had to borrow my Nintendo Family Computer which left me with absolutely nothing to play with back then. However as time went by simply, I have come to realize that things are usually better off that way as opposed to them leaving the accommodate to visit to an authentic casino with their friends, leaving me at home that has a sitter. That is actually the part that most of friends hated the most. They didn’t want to be left at home with just the sitter while their particular parents enjoyed themselves outside.

I suggested that my pals ask their parents to get them a Nintendo Family Computer so that if in case their parents would certainly need to go to the casino, they would rather play casino at home utilizing the gaming console. The idea really worked for a number but for the others, they were still left at home with the sitter each time their particular parents try out a neighbor’s home to play casino using their Nintendo Family Computer. Poor kids.

The plan didn’t work out that well. But I must say that gambling at home is so much more efficient and better going all the way to the casinos where you would need a lot of money to do something. It’s true after all that the Nintendo Family Computer is for the whole family to enjoy and it keeps the whole family together because it works in a lot of ways if you would only be a little more creative.

30 Rock Rocks!

May 23rd, 2009
by Patrick Daniels

There’s some decent comedy out there but when you really want to enjoy yourself you must watch 30 Rock. This show is very popular and rates high in NBC comedies, only falling to The Office. The forth season is just beginning and it is maintaining it’s appeal just as in the first season. The DVD’s are available for first through third seasons, you should be sure it becomes part of your DVD library.

This show is about a TV show shot at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The lead character is Liz Lemon who’s played by Tina Fey who is a creator and writer of the show. Her character has minimum social niceties, is charged as head writer with keeping the rest of the characters out of trouble, and she’s a workaholic.

Tina Fey has a boss on the show played by Alec Baldwin, who doesn’t want to deal with the difficulties of a TV program so he relies on her to keep everything moving. On the show the writers are every bit as difficult as the actors and have a sizable role.

Tracy Morgan of SNL fame plays Tracy Jordan, a movie star that has been given the biggest role on the variety comedy show that Fey writes. He is not what you would call normal, and needs to be kept track of for most of the day and can’t be left to his own devices otherwise he will cause trouble. All of the actors and actresses need this kind of supervision.

The show is one of the funniest shows on television and has only gotten better as it has had time to develop its characters. There is no reason to miss this show and the DVD release makes it easier to get yourself up to speed on all of the misadventures of the last three years. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin have a chemistry that is easy for them to play off of. Tracy Morgan has finally found a role that he can play and works perfect for him. He looks like he is having loads of fun.

Twilight Princess Rocks

May 22nd, 2009
by Patrick Daniels

Twighlight Princess is the new Zelda game from Nintendo and it is fantastic. All of their expertise from all of the past games has been put to use in this game and it will be a classic.

The Wii has motion controls which add to the experience of this game, so it’s a little different than the Gamecube. But no matter if you have motion controls or not, this is a really entertaining game. Both have unbelievable graphics, a leap forward for the game.

The characters look so detailed, it’s much better than past versions, Link is looking very threatening now. The best part of Zelda is the puzzles, game play and boss fights. These have always been special to this series and this new version excels here.

This game will keep you playing for hours, it has tremendous puzzles and boss fights along with the good game play. These Zelda dungeons have been designed really well, there’s no easy way to move through them as you wonder what’s around each corner. The boss fights are perennial favorites and this feature doesn’t let you down. You have to really think you’re way through using hidden details and solutions. You can’t just push the buttons, it takes more than that.

This is the best Zelda game in the series, not to be missed, and that is a big promotion considering how good the Zelda games have been. There are no better games for Gamecube or the Wii, and in the last few years it’s the best game on any system.

Wii Introduces Super Smash Bros

May 21st, 2009
by Patrick Daniels

A new game from Wii is exciting even the hard core gamers who usually aren’t Wii active. It’s called Super Smash Bros and it is doing very well. It includes all of the favorite Nintendo characters, who all have their own special warrior skills. This game has numerous characters and if you progress, you’ll unlock them as you go.

You can play against the computer with up to four players and over the Nintendo WiFi. It is at its most fun when you are competing against three other friends. All of the classic levels and stages are in this game including a few extra locals. You can even create your own levels and share them online with other people.

In addition to being able to play the fighting modes, there are plenty of other games modes. The game also includes a whole other adventure, platform type game. You can play it alone or with a friend and there are some things that can only be unlocked in the game. It is surprisingly long and involved and would be a whole game by itself from any other developer. It is just an added bonus on this disc and Nintendo didn’t cut corners in bringing extra value to your fifty dollars spent on this game.

This is by far the most entertaining and best looking of the Smash Bros games they’ve released. It has lots of adventures and brings alot for your money. Playing online is pretty easy because the game will match you up with other players, and you’d never know you were on line it’s so smooth.

I still can’t believe how much game they packed onto this one disc, it really is a marvel and a real value if you are looking to get tons of re-playability out of a game. This is the best in the series and should not be missed.
